Approach

I meet the person(s) in front of me. I remain curious to their needs, perspective, and motivations. People seeking therapy often feel disempowered in their lives. I have a deep reverence for the nuances of my clients’ lives and struggles. Therapy with me is a place to reclaim agency and gain supportive practical tools.

My approach is holistic by nature, integrating mind, body, and spirit. Traditional psychology views people from the head up – I see the most change when folks make space for their whole personhood. I understand this can feel inaccessible at first; overwhelm and suffering often lead to a great separation from the body. We will navigate these various parts of yourself at your pace and level of interest.

Research suggests that about 80% of therapy’s effectiveness is centered around the therapeutic relationship itself, meaning a felt sense of compassion and safety with your therapist is often more impactful than theory itself. If you feel drawn to my tone and perspective, we may be a great fit.

If you are interested in theory, here are some of the theories I pull from:

  • Dialectical behavioral therapy

  • Mindfulness and the mind-body connection

  • Narrative therapy

  • Motivational interviewing
